The Metro Atlanta area is undergoing a vibrant and dynamic evolution alongside our population growth. As the host of Super Bowl LIII in 2019, and with our commitment to transit solutions and a thriving business community, it’s no surprise that Atlanta is truly the economic engine of the South.
In 2010, our region was home to 12 Fortune® 500 companies, a number that has risen to 16. On behalf of the Metro Atlanta Chamber, I’d like to welcome Veritiv Corporation, Atlanta’s newest Fortune 500 company, to this esteemed group of leading corporations that call our region home.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Veritiv’s Chairman and CEO Mary Laschinger – the first female CEO of a Georgia-based Fortune 500 company. Under Mary’s leadership, Veritiv has achieved solid financial results, reached key integration milestones, and most importantly, stayed true to the company’s values with a focus on exceptional customer solutions and service.
Congratulations to Veritiv and Mary on this exciting achievement. Even at the beginning of its journey, Veritiv’s outstanding growth, focus on innovation and values-based culture are great assets to the Atlanta business community. I am personally looking forward to many years of continued partnership and growth.
