Celebrating Driver Appreciation Week – Meet Veritiv Driver Kea Morgan

Veritiv Driver Kea Morgan
Veritiv Driver Kea Morgan on our first day as Veritiv – July 2, 2014

Appreciation for our drivers is certainly not limited to one week of the year. Here at Veritiv, we recognize the value our drivers bring to our business and the role they play in our ongoing success. And we’re celebrating our drivers this week during Driver Appreciation Week.

Yesterday, you met Mike Yaffee from our La Palma, California facility, and today, we’d like for you to meet Kea Morgan, out of our Norcross, GA facility. You may already recognize Kea – she is prominently featured in our driver recruitment campaign and on drive4v.com.

A handmade gift from one of Kea’s customers

Kea has been driving for about 15 years, and the last four years have been with us. She states that the best part of her day is her customers. During the holidays last year, one of her favorite customers gave her a tractor-trailer made by hand using scraps of pallet wood. Kea proudly displays the model truck it in her kitchen, alongside the trophies her two kids – a boy and a girl, both athletes like their mom – bring home regularly.

In her spare time, Kea competes in Spartan races – eight mile, military-style obstacle course competitions. In between her daily training sessions, she’s a novelist. Kea is currently working on trilogy called The Prodigy Slave, about a young, self-taught pianist whose talent ends up changing the world in the most dramatic of ways.*

We work hard to make sure all Veritiv employees feel like their contributions are recognized. But don’t just take our word for it – hear it from Kea herself: “Veritiv is the FIRST AND ONLY company I have ever worked for that makes me feel as though I am a part of the family. At all of the other companies I have worked for, I truly felt like just a number on somebody’s bottom line, so it has been so wonderful to work in an establishment where I feel as though people actually care about me as a person and are appreciative of the work that I do.”

*Kea’s novels can be found on Amazon.com. Search for her pen name, London Skye.

Congrats on your recognition Kea. This is one of your old Apollo High softball coaches Bob Falk. Coach Tally sent me this link about you. Nice to hear things are going so well for you. I’m still teaching in the district, and watching a lot of softball. My daughter plays for Sunnyslope High School. They just played in the Apollo Tournament. It was was fun to be on those old fields and remember all the fun coaching time. Still remember that great big swing and smile of yours….
